In the black forest inside

A powerful story about getting lost, in the forest, as in life.

A young man gets into a car and drives away. Where is he going? What does he want? In the black forest inside is a completely new drama by Jon Fosse, written for Det Westnorske Teateret and Det Norske Teatret.

The young man drives away, as far as he can, along a tractor road, past disused farms and darkened cabins - until he gets stuck. Then the young man gets the idea that he can go into the dark forest to find help.

An existential suspense drama about loneliness, longing, powerlessness and shame.

The performance is directed by Miriam Prestøy Lie. Together with scenographer Dagny Drage Kleiva and lighting designer Arne Kambestad, she allows the play to unfold in an enveloping stage space. Composer Sjur Miljeteig himself performs the music from the stage.

Produced by Det Westnorske Teateret and Det Norske Teatret in collaboration with Festspillene i Bergen.
